Quality & Corrections

Public Beta

What you can expect from Fluent Thai during Public Beta.

Public Beta means we're actively improving the product. Some issues may exist — audio mismatches, scoring edge cases, or content that needs correction. We ship fixes fast and communicate openly about what we know.

How we check

Tones are withheld, not guessed. Every syllable's tone is resolved against reviewed evidence before it is shown. Where the evidence does not settle it, the tone is withheld and nothing is printed — you will see the syllable with no tone label rather than a confident wrong answer. A word whose recorded pronunciation disagrees with its spelling rule is marked as an estimate rather than silently resolved either way.

Audio is approved take by take. Nothing is spoken by your browser at practice time. Clips are generated ahead, listened to, and approved or thrown away one take at a time — 8,267 of them so far. A clip that sounds wrong is replaced, and the old take stays in the record rather than being quietly overwritten.

Words and sentences are reviewed by hand. 2,059 headwords, each with a checked meaning; 2,203 sentences, each tied to the words it claims to teach. A sentence cannot enter the corpus citing a word that is not in it.

What we do not claim. We are not a dictionary and we do not offer word-for-word translation. A meaning we have not reviewed is labelled as such rather than filled in from a guess. Some Thai you paste into Sentence Explorer will come back with spans marked “new to us” — that is the honest answer, not a failure.

Our commitments

A clear daily practice loop

Structured 10-minute practice that targets your weak points, brings mistakes back for review, and builds real Thai over time. Pick your focus and get a plan in seconds.

Visible progress you can trust

Your Thai Map tracks what you know and what you can do. See the words, skills, and real-world capability you're building — it grows with every session.

Fast fixes with transparency

When issues are reported, we investigate within days (often hours). Email hello@fluent-thai.com or use the issue reporting page to let us know. Check the changelog and known issues page for status.

Data safety & recovery

Most of your learning progress is backed up to our server for this browser and device. If your browser's local storage is cleared but your cookies are preserved, backed-up data is restored on your next visit. If you clear all site data for fluent-thai.com (including cookies and local storage), your anonymous device identity resets and automatic recovery may not be possible. Switching browsers or devices requires an in-app pair code when that option is available.

If something isn't working right, use Settings > Troubleshooting to selectively reset just the affected part — no need to clear your entire cache.

Thai correctness matters

If something sounds wrong, looks wrong, or just seems off — report it, even if you're not sure. “Something seems off” reports are still useful.

For high-stakes Thai (formal writing, exams, professional use), we recommend double-checking with trusted sources during beta. We're building toward full accuracy, but we're not there yet.
